I have an identity!
From their birth on, children have the right to an officially recognized name and nationality. They have the right to know their parents when this is possible, and to be brought up by them. (Article 7)
Every child’s identity shall be recognized and protected. A child’s name, nationality and family relationships constitute the child’s identity.
If a child is deprived of his or her identity, the State must work to protect it and help re-establish it. (Article 8)
