SAVE POWER

Cleaner energy means a healthier environment

There are lots of ways you can reduce your carbon footprint at home and at school. The first is saving power. Turn off lights and appliances when you’re not using them. Replace energy-intensive products with more energy efficient ones. Suggest that your school, workplace or home switches to renewable energy.

GREEN TRANSPORT

Reduce your emissions!

Try to find greener transport. If safe, cycle or walk instead of taking a car or motorbike short distances, and use public transport like buses and trains for longer journeys. If you can switch to an electric vehicle or ask your government for more and better public transport.

DIET

Climate change threatens food security

When it comes to food, see if you can cut out some meat and dairy. Store food properly so it doesn’t go to waste.

REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE

Climate change affects water quality and quantity

There’s an old saying, reduce, reuse and recycle. When it comes to buying things, try to use fewer and more sustainable products, as well as reusing and creatively reinventing what you already have, which can be fun. When it comes time to throw an item away, try to recycle it. Learn more about the impact of plastic consumption by completing the Plastic Challenge and sign the Plastic Tide Turner Pledge today.

SPEAK UP

It is not too late!

But what if there’s no public transport where you live? No place to recycle things, or get renewable energy? This is where the most powerful action of all comes in – advocacy. Advocacy means telling decision-makers like governments, city councils, and the CEOs of businesses, that you want them to act.
